Designer for May

This month I would like to introduce you to Sue Hawkins

Sue Hawkins is a remarkable woman, who, surviving a horrific traffic accident which saw the loss of her beloved husband and one of her pet dogs, she was left with severe post traumatic stress amongst other injuries. The most notable lasting effects have been her memory problems and the dexterity difficulties of her hand, which was injured in the accident. Sue sought solace in crafts and quite surprisingly she began to make jewellery, with quite some skill. Friends and family were astonished by her new found talents and soon started putting in requests for pieces. It is now two years since the accident and Sue's jewellery is as popular as ever. Her new handmade jewellery business Ellie Michael (Ellie from the lost dog and Michael, her Husband) is about to be launched as is her website www.ellie-michael.co.uk
