Tips |
Cut Chain to required lengths ~ The one I made has 52 links for the 2 back pieces then 14 Links for the 6 pieces in between beads |
I start beads just past collar bone but you can space them how you like. |
Make a loop with wire over a pair of round nosed pliers and hook on first link of chain. Give yourself about half an inch for the wrap round. Hold loop flat with round nosed pliers and pull short end of wire around itself with flat nosed pliers. Trim off excess. |
I usually work with a piece of wire starting about 10" ~ work your way through it and you get less waste. |
Thread on a small black bead, large grey, small black bead. Then thread on the first link of next piece of chain and make another looped wrap. |
Don't forget to thread on chain. I've forgotten lots of time in my excitement :0( |
Repeat these 2 steps until beads and chain are all fixed together. |
Add jump ring and clasp one end and jump ring on the other. |
Twist jumps rings to the sides to open |
Wire wrapping can be a bit tricky to start with, but so useful a trick to learn. Only word of caution don't wrap too close to bead or it may crack when flattening cut end down with pliers |
