Designer for the month of September ~ Mandy Boreham

"Hello I am Mandy, I started playing with beads and making bits in 2003 and amazingly discovered that people would actually pay me for the bits I made. I enjoying all kinds of jewellery making and often spending weeks trying to get the pattern right, but I really enjoy buying weird and strange focal beads that can be made into pendants, using wire or just hanging dangles of other beads from them. Although I make the jewellery, apart from earrings I rarely wear it, but have made many bits for myself as I can't bare to part with them."

This lovely necklace is made from Blue Chalcedony and Rose Quartz with Opalite rounds on a memory wire, I thought the colours really set each other off nicely.

Although I often make the earrings with gemstone chips dangles the Pink Bracelet and Blue necklace above were experiments. I love to try out different bead stitches but they always seem to take ages to finish.

These 3 pictures and the group of earrings top right are from my own stash, although I do not often wear necklaces, the earrings and bracelets are often worn . My favourite earrings are the Blue Quartz rounds and Moonstone cube ones and I often wear the Lapis and Fluorite bracelets together as I love the colours, I'm still experimenting with the wire wrapping, but I love the Copper

These 2 bracelets are made with a extension chain which many people find easier to fasten plus the dangling charm also has it's charm.
